Volunteering | With Clients

Upon receiving a guide dog, clients undergoing instruction with their new dog. They live at the Center in Beit Oved for three weeks. In the afternoon and evening hours, the students are offered social activities.  These activities are given by volunteers.

Social Activities

Volunteers conduct enrichment leisure activities during the afternoon and evening hours for students such as: cooking, Pilatis, art or crafts, and other creative activities.

Job Requirements:
  • Availability during afternoon or evening hours
  • Living in Israel
  • Speaking fluent Hebrew
  • Age 18 and up
  • Ability to instruct others in an activity of your interest
Helping in the kitchen and dining room

Volunteers help prepare and serve meals to people attending courses.

Job Requirements:
  • Ability to work on your feet for two hours preparing and serving meals.
  • Availability from 18:00 – 20:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 12:00 on Fridays
Foreign Language Interpretation

Occasionally course participants do not speak Hebrew, and there is a need to translate the instructors’ directions during the guide dog training course. Translation services are needed at the center and during walks in the neighboring towns.

Job Requirements:
  • Fluency in Russian, Spanish, French, or Amaharic
  • Living in Israel
  • Availability for work during the morning hours
  • Ability to exert yourself during training walks
